to frontline workers

THANK YOU

To all members on the frontlines who gave their all during a most difficult time: thank you for keeping Albertans safe and healthy. I see you, appreciate you and thank you for all you have done.

We have faced many challenges together in our history as the Health Sciences Association of Alberta (HSAA), and the unprecedented period we have just been through will be a topic of discussion for generations to come. This is our story to tell. We will proudly tell how we overcame frustration, serious mental health impacts and moral injury to tirelessly serve Albertans whose needs we consistently put before our own. We were not alone, of course, so we will also tell about the thousands of healthcare workers across Alberta who helped to pull us through.

Thank You Profile Pic@300x

“I am asking you to re-elect Mike Parker as the President of your Union. My commitment has always been to work for all of our members, and to protect the Union through the many issues and trials we face. We have accomplished a lot together, but there is much more work to be done, and I am asking for your support to continue doing it.”

Re-elect Mike Parker as President of the Health Sciences Association of Alberta.
My focus over the next three years will be:

Protecting our jobs and professions

Without professionals there is no healthcare!

Ensuring that every member’s voice is heard

Through active engagement at every local!

Defending against privatization

Every Albertan will know the value of our members!

Protecting the rights of all workers

What we desire for ourselves, we wish for all!

“As your president, I stood with you despite the unexpected challenges you faced over the last two years. Through it all, we were able to lay the groundwork for strong local units that ensure that the voice of every member can be heard in our union.”

As healthcare unionists, we can be proud of the risks we have taken to begin doing the right thing in our communities and for Mike’s leadership in helping healthcare providers understand and become better allies.

It really struck me how important it is as an institution to have members understand the work we need to do as treaty people, and I reached out and thanked you again for giving me the tools and experience I need to help us move that work forward as HSAA.
